FAQs
- Q:How many children do you have?
-
A:
A concern for parents is always how many other children are in a childcare center. They want to ensure that their child will get the time and attention that they deserve. In order to do this, we maintain strict adherence to the rules on child/staff ratio as adopted by the State of Nebraska. While we are licensed for 80 children, we have them split into different rooms by their ages. This helps children learn at their own pace in a room of their peers.
- Q:Are you licensed by the State of Nebraska?
-
A:
Yes! We are licensed by the State of Nebraska – Health and Human Services Department as a Childcare Center. You can view information about us on the State of Nebraska website.
- Q:Does your staff have childhood education degrees or experience?
-
A:
Yes! All of our full-time staff are highly qualified. We require that they all have a college degree or equivalent experience. Our staff have associate degrees, bachelors degrees and even masters degrees as well as some with decades of experience. All of this is to ensure that we are well-versed in the educational needs of your child to get them to their next learning milestone.
- Q:What kind of food do you serve?
-
A:
We are enrolled in the State of Nebraska food program and follow their guidelines for nutrition and portion size for the meals that we serve. Those meals are a snack in the morning (around 8:45am), lunch time (at 11:15am) and an afternoon snack (at 2:00pm). We have our own cook that prepares meals and snacks – and it’s all home-cooked goodness!
- Q:Are you ever closed on holidays or because of weather?
-
A:
Holidays are a time to celebrate. We like to celebrate too! We also understand that parents have to work, so we are only closed on the major holidays. New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekend, then we are open the Friday before and the Monday after so you can still go to work.
We evaluate every situation involving weather as it happens. If we cannot ensure the safety of your child because of a weather incident, then it’s the right thing to do to close. As happens in Nebraska, snow storms can grow to where travel becomes difficult. In those situations, we make sure to make any closing decision as soon as possible so you can be informed. Thankfully, it rarely happens.
- Q:What kind of activities do you do with my child?
-
A:
We have all different kinds of age appropriate activities. From coloring, to learning shapes, letters and colors, we cover all of the things that your child should know. We have a structured curriculum that offers ample time for learning activities as well as unstructured time for play. Give us a call and we will be glad to talk to you about what your child’s day will be like.
- Q:How old does my child have to be to attend?
-
A:
We enroll children as soon as they are 18 months old. If your child isn’t 18 months old yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t get started on the enrollment process early so you are ready when the day arrives.
- Q:What do you charge?
-
A:
We are competitively priced for the services that we offer. We’d be glad to discuss our current rates with you when you come in and visit. Schedule a tour today!
- Q:Do you accept State Pay or Social Services?
-
A:
Yes! We are authorized by the State of Nebraska to bill directly to Health and Human Services making it easy for you to focus on getting the care your child deserves. All you need to do is get an authorization and we can help you get started on the process.
- Q:What hours are you open?
-
A:
Our hours of operation are from 5am – 6pm Monday through Friday so we can accommodate many different schedules. The only time we aren’t open is on major holidays including New Years Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (and the Friday after) and Christmas Day. We are always open the day before and after holidays because we understand that you have to work.
